The Kansas City Scholarship Fund is a new program founded by a dedicated group of donors. This special fund will give qualified applicants in the Kansas City metropolitan area the chance to take the next step in their education. Read on to discover how you can join us as an applicant or supporter.

Please review our complete list of requirements here before applying.

    • Be active in a 12-step alcohol or substance use disorder recovery program (AA, NA, HA, etc.)
    • Have one year of recovery by the April 1 deadline
    • Be employed at least part-time
    • Have financial responsibility and need
    • Be enrolled or planning to enroll in an academic, vocational, or technical program
    • Live in the Kanas City metropolitan region, including surrounding counties in MO and KS

Following is a brief overview of the application process. Detailed descriptions of the process can be reviewed here.

  1. Complete the scholarship application in the application portal by April 1.
  2. Your application will be reviewed for eligibility.
  3. If your application is eligible, you will move to the Interview phase, which takes place via Zoom in mid-April.
  4. After interviews, the Scholarship Committee will determine awards. Scholarships will be awarded by May 15 and can be used beginning June 1. Scholarships can be applied to the Summer, Fall, and Spring semester and do not roll over from year to year.
