STOCK DONATIONS
The Next Step can accept stock donations through our brokerage account at Charles Schwab. To inquire about donating stock, please contact us at 314.719.2880 or via email.
The Next Step will accept publicly traded stocks, mutual funds, or privately held stocks. Please note, donations of privately held stock may require additional documentation to facilitate acceptance. Upon receiving the stock, The Next Step will place an order to sell the transferred securities to avoid carrying additional risk. The donor will receive an acknowledgment of their donation in the mail.
While anyone is eligible to donate stock, donors may benefit from additional tax savings if the donated security has been appreciating for at least a year. Donors considering a stock donation should consult with their tax advisors for specific concerns and planning questions.
Stock donations to The Next Step are not refundable.
